About the Conference

This is the fourth international ecumenical film conference, following on from meetings in Mannheim (Germany), Iasi (Romania), and Crete. At these meetings a wide range of films were considered, and placed in their cultural, historical and religious backgrounds.

Welcome to Edinburgh

New College at the University of Edinburgh is a leading centre for teaching and research into the relationship of film and religion / theology. Most of the conference will take place at New College and Pollock Halls, where delegates will be accommodated in en-suite bedrooms. Pollock Halls is situated just outside Holyrood Park, the site of Arthur's Seat and one of Europe's largest city parks. Referred to as the 'Athens of the North', Edinburgh is the literature capital of the world and host to seven international festivals.
